John Paul Jones III
Dean, International Education, Arizona International Professor of Geography
My Mexico experience has been concentrated in Oaxaca, where I co-directed the UA’s “Arizona in Oaxaca” Study Abroad Program with Oliver Froehling for many years. With Oliver and my former colleague Susan Roberts (University of Kentucky), I served as co-PI on a National Science Foundation grant to analyze the spread and impact of “managerialism” in the rapidly globalizing NGO sector in Oaxaca. Publications from this grant can be found in World Development, Journal of International Development, Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Geoforum, and Journal of Latin American Studies.
